Topper Student of Akshara International School,Pune

Imagine you were studying in India and all of a sudden you have been asked to switch your school because you are relocating to a different country. How would you react to this? Leaving your home, friends and school and shifting back to an unknown country. Sounds challenging, right? Here we are sharing the experience of one of our students, Ipshita Tamuli, who moved back from the US to India during the pandemic. But made her way to the school topper list.

Ipshita’ Journey At Akshara International School, Wakad, Pune

When we moved back from the US to India in the middle of the pandemic, it was quite obvious for our family to be tensed for the switch. Additionally, finding a novel education environment wasn’t easy when things were shifted to online mode. I got into one of the best CBSE secondary school in Pune

I was worried about the differences in the styles of learning. Particularly in subjects like social science, as I would be learning Indian history for the first time. Moreover, I had already missed 2 months of school. However, once I secured my admission at Akshara International School, my anxieties cooled off. All my teachers at Akshara helped me right from the start, and always stood by my side to resolve my queries. My teachers constantly encouraged me to participate in extracurricular activities conducted at our school, which helped me to connect with my schoolmates. Soon enough, class 9 had flown by and I ended up performing well in my academics, as well as clearing several Olympiad exams which were conducted that year. But now, I had to face the Class 10 board examinations with a completely new format. Even the teachers were unaware of the examination pattern. But indeed all our teachers took great efforts in teaching and conducting mock tests with thorough discussions, which helped to build my confidence.

Role Of My Parents & My Schedule In This Crucial Journey

My parents always had my back, and never pressured me for marks. Rather they encouraged me to focus on learning and understanding concepts. While my studies were consistent, I never had a strict schedule. I set an aim to study for about 2 hours with my complete attention, and fix goals which I try to finish by the end of the week.

I did most of my studies from NCERT and practiced questions given by my teachers.

I always took time to wind down and stay relaxed with my interests in drawing and music. Whenever I felt my concentration was deviating, I would take a quick break and play the piano for a while. It helped me reduce my examination stress and worry. My other hobbies include swimming, baking and solving math which held my back whenever I felt low.

How My Parents Feel About Enrolling Me In Akshara International School?

When we had to choose a school for Ipshita in the middle of the pandemic, we were tensed. As she belonged to a very different environment and this move was significant. But we feel blessed that we made the right decision by taking admission in the best CBSE School, Wakad, Pune. We took admission in July, 2020 and the transfer schooling procedure at Pune was simple. Although by then she had already missed 3 months of school. But to our pleasant surprise, Ipshita got individual attention from her class teachers, co-ordinators and the administration as well, so she was able to make up everything sooner. The teaching method followed at Akshara helped her to glide in the subjects. Selfless efforts of the teachers are indeed commendable. It’s a great school, all the staff are polite and respectful which makes it unique. We are very happy to admit our daughter into Akshara International School, Pune.

Few Words From Teacher’s Books

Ipshita had an all round development at Akshara. Apart from excelling in academics, she had an excellent hand at sketching. She also made it to International Rank 11 in the International English Olympiad. Indeed it’s a joyous moment for us when our kid overcomes hurdles and excels in life. It’s a proud moment for us!

Last but not the least, I am grateful to all my teachers and staff at Akshara International School for helping me make a smooth transition from the US to India, one culture to another, and overcoming COVID restrictions. I will be forever indebted for all your support and help for my future journey.
