In a one of its kind event the Hon’ble Chairperson of AIS, Ma’am Jyoti Rathore and the Director Jayesh Rathore Sir were invited to grace the occasion of an all women’s expedition flag off ceremony organized by GGIM at the Bhandarkar Oriental Institute of Research. In his address Mr.Rathore encouraged the woman mountaineers to embrace the mountains, he shared with them his love and affinity for the mountains. Mr. Rathore appreciated family members of the mountaineers for having the courage to let the women expedite Mt.Sudarshan, one of the toughest climbs in the Garhwal region of Gangotri.
Mrs. Rathore Ma’am in her speech congratulated the six women for their bold initiative. She applauded them for their team spirit, determination and fire to explore. Ma’am narrated a story about the mountains to inspire the adventurers.
On this occasion office bearers of GGIM (Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering) Mr.Umesh Zirpe, Mrs.Ushaprabha Page, Mr. Jayant Tulpule, Mr.Anand Palande, Mr.Bhushan Harshe and mountain lovers were present in large numbers.
The flag off ceremony was done at the hands of Mr.Jayesh Rathore and Mrs.Jyoti Rathore.
The program concluded with best wishes for the launch of an incredible journey of mountaineers, Smita Kariwadekar, (leader) Purva Shinde, Seema Pai, Padmaja Dhanvi, Sneha Gude and Sneha Talwatkar
