We as civilians forget that what goes on in the minds of our soldiers, who fight for us on the borders every day for peace. I have attempted to write that there would be moments in their lives when they would want to come home and would wish there was no war and peace in their lives too.
Daily fighting for peace !
Sitting peacefully in the morn
With a cup of piping tea
Does this thought ever occur to thee?
My loved ones are there too,
waiting at home for me.
You rest your head on the pillow
With nary a care in your head
Does this thought occur to you?
How bloodied is my bed!
You proclaim your patriotism
With posts on Whatsapp and TikTok
Has it ever occurred to you?
How innocent lives are at stake?
You cry ‘An eye for an eye’.
Avenge the innocent deaths
Has it ever occurred to you?
It merely adds to number of wreaths.
‘Fight so the war may end’
‘Fight so we are at ease’
Has it ever occurred to you?
We are fighting daily for peace.
